Four days until Christmas. Its hard to believe, and in many ways it still does not feel like Christmas despite this being the first year I have ever filled a yard with lights, gone to a dozen or more Christmas parties, and having done our Christmas with Cherie's side of the family, the Lippys. The Weber's will get in some time after new years, we hope. Maybe it is just not having a real tree (fire hazard) and all our little ornaments are covering a thin decrepit mass of wire that has been dressed up like a tree. Our little star does not even sit on it, as the wires are too weak to support it. The top "branch" that juts out of the top is adorned with a bow, that is mostly strait now. It does look one hundred times better thanks to Cherie, who took the time to rip off the cheap plastic brown glitter balls that I gladly threw out and add the red beads we used our first year of marriage. Ok, so my family does between 2 and 4 trees every year, and I am greatly comforted by traditions, all of which have been stripped away from me this year in favor of Falcon's customs.
We are down to five kids. The rest have gone home for a few weeks with relatives. Some of the four we have will have day visits on Christmas day. It is possible that we will only have one of our boys on Christmas. He is sleeping on the other hall right now because his room got bed bugs in it. We had to throw out his wooden table that his grandmother (who has passed away) gave him. Of course I complain that I am working Christmas and my traditions are delayed.
